WeatherLea Farm dates from the mid-18th century and witnessed extensive Civil War action. The farm has been permanently protected from development and division by a conservation easement held by the Land Trust of Virginia.

Special Events: WeatherLea Farm is an outstanding wedding and event venue, hosting up to 150 guests in our well-appointed 19th century red barn. Numerous outdoor locations on the property, including two gazebos and spectacular views, also provide beauty for weddings and other events. Occasional barn dances, dinners and other events are held in the big red barn, usually in collaboration with local organizations and/or farm-to-table restaurants.

Guests may enjoy visiting with our animals, which include the resident Border Collie, a flock of Romney sheep and two horses.
Dining: Ample supplies of breakfast foods are provided for guests, who may also use the kitchen to prepare additional meals. Interior dining table seats 6.
Handicapped accessibility: The Shepherd’s Cottage requires one step up at the entry, and one step down to the kitchen and bathroom; as such, it is not officially accessible, but wheelchair users with companions have found it manageable on numerous occasions.
