| Aside from the lovely wineries, and many museums, Upperville, Virginia, is most noteworthy for two things. Oak Spring, one of the homes of Paul Mellon is located here in the Middleburg area. Paul was the son of the famous philanthropist, Andrew Mellon. The greatest claim to fame of Upperville, VA, is its position during the Battle of Gettysburg. This was a landmark town during the movements in and out of the fight. Visitors can learn more at the Warren Rifles Confederate Museum and the Manassas National Battlefield Park. Come spend a night or a weekend with us at one of our member bed and breakfasts. B&B lodging is a wonderful alternative to typical hotel accommodations, and who knows…you may even dream that you’re in battle! Then, why not venture north, and see all that Bluemont and Purcellville have to offer? It’s a beautiful day for hiking at one of the scenic parks, as well as a quiet, leisurely lunch in the relaxing atmosphere of our quaint restaurants. Time to head back to the B&B—aren’t you glad you chose lodging at a Loudoun County Bed and Breakfast Guild Inn? Our innkeepers can direct you to even more fun activities here in Upperville, to make your vacation complete. |
