| Formerly known as Chinn’s Crossroads, the town of Middleburg, Virginia, is located along the southern border of Loudoun County. Middleburg is known as “The Nation’s Horse and Hunt Capital.” This was established long ago, because 1748 brought the first fox hunt to the area. You’ll find the horses at George’s Mill Stables in nearby Lovettsville, VA. There’s also Greenway Stables located in Aldie, and many more—including the Morven Park International Equestrian Center. There’s additional outdoor excitement to be experienced with tubing, canoeing, and river rafting. The outdoor attractions continue, with the abundance of parks and vineyards to be visited, as well as the Oatlands Plantation, which is an 1803 mansion with historic gardens on its grounds. Whether you’re spending time in Middleburg, or in nearby Upperville, or even just arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport, you’re going to need lodging accommodations. Middleburg holds several historic bed and breakfast inns.
